The Arkansas School for the Blind Child Nutrition Program serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. These meals are served daily to students while on campus - at NO COST to the student or parents of the student. The primary goals of the           Nutrition Program are to plan, prepare, and serve well-balanced tasty meals

and to make healthy food choices. These meals comply with Federal regulations and the meal pattern required for the National School Lunch and Breakfast Program, with emphasis on lowering salt, fat, and sugar content in the meal.

The ASB cafeteria serves a wide variety of foods for every meal.  Students may select a choice from the steam table, or visit the fresh and well-stocked salad bar - or both.  The salad bar offers vegetables, fruit salads, fresh fruits, dips, and additional entrees. Also, there is plenty of that good old standby - peanut butter. Photo of the ASB Salad Bar.

When students are on field trips or other special activities off campus, the excellent Child Nutrition staff prepares sack lunches for each student to the same quality as meals served on campus.

Special dietary plates may be coordinated with the Child Nutrition staff and parents.  Just contact Barbara Cole for more information about this service.
