ARKANSAS SCHOOL FOR THE DEAF

ARKANSAS SCHOOL FOR THE BLIND

The Board of Trustees for the Arkansas School for the Deaf and the Arkansas School for the Blind met for their monthly meeting on February 16, 2010.

Present: Beth Gray, Chairperson; Dr. Doug Watson, Board Member; Dr. Henrietta Williams, Board Member (telephone conference); Khayyam Eddings, Board Member; Janice Vaughn, A.S.D. Parent Representative; Jeanne Tribett, A.S.B. Parent Representative; Jim Hill, A.S.B. Superintendent; Mike Phillips, A.S.D. Interim Superintendent; Katie Becker, Amy Herbert, Interpreters; Members of the Deaf Community; Members of the Blind Community

Absent: Andrew Tolbert

Call to Order

The meeting was called to order at 5:00 p.m. The next board meeting was scheduled for March 16.

10-J-003 Motion to Approve Consent Items

Dr. Watson made a motion to approve the Consent Items and Dr. Williams seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.

Mrs. Tribett had no report for this meeting.

10-J-004 Motion to Elect Officers for the Board of Trustees

Mr. Hill gave the board members a copy of the order of sequence for the present board members. Officers for the year 2010 will be as follows: Beth Gray, Chairperson, Andrew Tolbert, Vice Chair, and Dr. Doug Watson, Secretary. Mr. Eddings made a motion to elect a slate of officers as previously stated by Mr. Hill and Dr. Williams seconded the

motion. The motion passed unanimously.
