ARKANSAS SCHOOL FOR THE BLIND

The Board of Trustees for the Arkansas School for the Deaf and the Arkansas School for the Blind met for their monthly meeting on December 15, 2009.

Present: Beth Gray, Chairperson; Andrew Tolbert, Secretary (via telephone conference); Dr. Doug Watson, Board Member; Dr. Henrietta Williams, Board Member; Khayyam Eddings, Board Member; Janice Vaughn, A.S.D. Parent Representative; Jim Hill, A.S.B. Superintendent; Mike Phillips, A.S.D. Interim Superintendent; Katie Becker, Zania Musteen, Interpreters; Members of the Deaf Community; Members of the Blind Community

Absent: Jeanne Tribett, A.S.B. Parent Representative

Call to Order

The meeting was called to order at 5:01 p.m. The next board meeting was scheduled for January 19, 2009. The grievance hearing for the Arkansas School for the Deaf will be at 3:00 p.m., prior to the board meeting.

09-J-042 Motion to Approve Consent Items

Mr. Eddings made the motion to approve the Consent Items and Mr. Tolbert seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.

A.S.B. Parent Representative

Absent; no report

A.S.D. Parent Representative- Janice Vaughn

Mrs. Vaughn asked if a photographer had been chosen for the senior pictures and suggested that the school look for a local photographer. Mr. Phillips said he will get with Mr. Hill to see who A.S.B. uses for their pictures.

There being no further business of a Joint nature, the meeting moved to the Agenda for the Arkansas School for the Blind.
