The Board of Trustees for the Arkansas School for the Blind met for their monthly meeting on June 17, 2009.
Present: Beth Gray, Vice-Chairperson; Andrew Tolbert, Secretary (via telephone conference); Dr. Doug Watson, Board Member; Henrietta Williams, Board Member; Khayyam Eddings, A.S.B. Parent Representative); Janice Vaughn, A.S.D. Parent Representative; Jim Hill, A.S.B. Superintendent; Dr. Marcella Dalla Rosa, A.S.D. Superintendent; Katie Becker, Zania Musteen, Flint Fears, Linda Glenn Interpreters; Erika Gee, Office of the Attorney General; Members of the Deaf Community; Members of the Blind Community
09-B-009 Motion to Approve Consent Items
Ms. Gray asked for a motion to approve the Financial Statement for May. Ms. Williams made the motion and Mr. Tolbert seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.
Ms. Williams said she will be meeting with Stan in July to go through the financial statements to have a better understanding of the statements. She said she has a lot of questions she would like to have answered. Dr. Watson said he would like to join in on the meeting. Ms. Williams said she doesn’t know if they can meet together and Mr. Tolbert said they cannot meet together. Ms. Williams said if any of the board members have questions she will find out the answers and report back to the board. She also said the other board members can meet with Stan also.
Ms. Gray asked for a motion to approve the Personnel Items. Ms. Williams made the motion and Dr. Watson seconded. The motion passed unanimously.

Superintendent’s Report
Prior to the meeting, Mr. Hill faxed the Superintendent’s Report to the board members. and Mr. Hill had nothing to add to his report.
